    Shamrock Festival March 2015
Shamrock Festival, normally scheduled for the first week before or after St. Patrick's Day, is a way for the townspeople to be Irish for a day and join in on some entertaining friendly banter. This past March we introduced "Jest Fest" as a way of providing community involvement with business participation. A Sunday Brunch filled with laughs and great food, with a little Irish entertainment thrown in.

    Festival Italia August 22, 2015
Festival Italia, scheduled for a Saturday in August, is a fun, family-friendly free event which features great Italian food, music, entertainment and many children's events. The majority of Wakefield merchants participate by setting up tents and tables along Main and Albion Streets. Why go to the North End when you can experience the flavor of a local street fair at home.
  • Holiday Stroll December 5, 2015
The "Tis the Season" Holiday Stroll is held the first Saturday in December. The Holiday Hat Parade, which starts at 3 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center on Main St., is the kickoff event. After picking up a free Holiday Bag, and strolling to the center of Wakefield, participants are greeted by local merchants, as well as entertainment, featured events, and festive foods.

The Seventh Annual ‘Tis the Season” Holiday Stroll

Saturday December 5th
2:45 – 7 p.m. – Downtown Wakefield
Main St./Albion St/Americal Civic Center

The Holiday Stroll promises all the fun and excitement of recent years, as well as the recent Festival Italia.   The core of the Stroll will remain the same.  The Hat Parade will begin at 3 p.m starting at the Americal Civic Center.  Main Street and Albion Street will be transformed into a pedestrian mall with carolers and entertainers on the street, and in various businesses, singers, magician, bands and much more.  The stores will be wrapped for the holiday inviting the many revelers into their businesses.  We hope you will be part of this community event that brought over 7,500 people into the downtown area last year.  Mark your calendars for Saturday December 5th, and join us again for the Holiday Stroll.

Do you have time to help spread the word about the 2015 Holiday Stroll?  Become an ambassador and help us by distributing flyers to restaurants, merchants, schools, churches, and organizations.   Also we are in need to volunteers the day of the event.  To register your interest or if you’d like to be involved, please contact us as soon as possible at
